Benefits of Scheduling Appointments

Why Should you Schedule Appointments for Your Blood Drives?
Scheduling appointments for blood donors is good for everyone—for you as the sponsor, as well as for your donors. Scheduling appointments allows a more even flow of donors so there is less chance of delays. Additionally, the number of staff assigned to a blood drive is based on the blood drive goal and the number of advance sign-ups. The only way to ensure adequate staffing, and to make sure you achieve your drive goal, is through advance sign-ups.
At the American Red Cross, our goal is to help make certain your drive is a success. One of the best ways to do that is by establishing a donor appointment management system. In fact, scheduling donors and honoring their appointments may be the most important factor in determining whether your blood drive will run smoothly or experience delays.
When we ask people to give blood, we have a responsibility to make sure their donation experience is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Scheduling appointments will go a long way toward accomplishing that. Donor scheduling benefits everyone involved in the drive, not just the donor.
